I was born in Germany, where I trained and worked as a master goldsmith and jewellery designer. I now live in London and work from my studio.
My jewellery has been shown at Goldsmiths' Hall, Liberty Department Store, Electrum Gallery, Lesley Craze Gallery and the Barbican Centre.
Jewellery and jewellery making are essentially very personal and ultimately I like my jewellery to be worn and enjoyed.
'Captured Gems' shows one off pieces with natural stones and minerals.
Gemstones are magical pieces of earth's history, frozen in time, part of human history and very often part of our personal history.
Bold coloured stones like the orange red Fire Opal or the acid green Uvarovite are beautifully offset by the warmth of fine gold . The cooler silver coloured metals bring more subtle shades to life, like natural coloured Diamonds.
In 'The Frame' I have experimented with contemporary versions of the locket as a means of keeping a memento.
Thumbnail photographs or images from a contact sheet for example have a jewel-like quality and set in a cufflink or bracelet are not immediately recognisable as pictures.
I have made simple and bold necklaces, where the image is slid into a frame and worn upfront, visible for all. Others conceal the image in a more secretive way. Both allow the wearer to choose and carry their very own, beautiful memory.
'Rosa Canina' stems from a collaboration with Textile Designer Jo Dawn, based on one of her linoleum cuts.
The wild flower is one of seven silver charms centred around the English country side with a slightly nostalgic feel.
